Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Regional Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing offensive against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have shot down missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.
It said missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
